The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of a people
who traveled over from Jerusalem a long time ago to
the land that we now call the American Continent. It was written on sheets of gold, and abridged by a prophet named Mormon . . . that's why it is called the Book of Mormon. As the full title suggests, it is about Jesus Christ. It is about people in another land that followed, and some who didn't follow, Christ. They watched the signs of his birth, life, and death, awaiting the Messiah who was across the sea in the land of their fathers. They preached of him, the prophesied of Him, they taught of Him, the learned of Him. The book of Mormon is not the Bible. The Bible is the word of God, brought forth in another land. They are together, 2 testaments to Glorify and teach the will of our loving Heavenly Father.
" We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible sits on the Pulpit of hundreds of different religious sects. The Book of Mormon, the record of Joseph, verifies and clarifies the Bible. It removes stumbling blocks, it restores many plain and precious things. We testify that when used together, the Bible and the Book of Mormon confound false doctrines, lay down contentions, and establish peace."
~ President Ezra Taft Benson, (president of the LDS church 1985-1994)
I believe this with all my heart. I invite you to just read the Book of Mormon and just see for yourself. Read it, and really want to know, and ask God in prayer if it is true. You'll know. You'll feel it. Sincerely, and with all my love as your Sister in Christ, I testify of this, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
